Carol Vowk
Acting Chair
My Story
After earning her Diploma in Business Administration, Carol relocated to Cynthia in 1985, eager to apply her newly acquired skills and launch a career in Alberta’s dynamic energy sector. Over the ensuing decades, she built a solid résumé with a series of increasingly responsible roles at several leading oil and gas companies, gaining a comprehensive understanding of corporate operations, stakeholder relations, and project coordination.

Carol’s professional achievements are matched only by her deep commitment to community life. Upon marrying a Drayton Valley resident, she chose to put down permanent roots in the region, where she and her husband raised their family. Alongside her demanding career, she devoted countless volunteer hours to youth-oriented organizations, including the Drayton Valley Air Cadets, the Brazeau Snowmobile Club, Drayton Valley Soccer Association, and the Hot Lunch Program at her children’s schools. These roles allowed her to mentor young people, foster active lifestyles, and strengthen local networks of support.

Recognizing her organizational acumen and passion for service, the Drayton Valley Health Foundation invited Carol to join its Board of Directors, where she went on to serve as Board Secretary. In that capacity, she applied her business expertise to maintain accurate records, streamline governance processes, and ensure transparent communication among board members, staff, and stakeholders. Her blend of industry experience, volunteer leadership, and unwavering dedication to community well-being continues to leave a lasting impact on Drayton Valley and the surrounding area.
